Datacom Now Offering Microsoft Volume Licensing Enterprise Agreements

24/10/2011

North Ryde, NSW – October 24, 2011 – Today IT services company Datacom announced that it has been chosen by Microsoft to provide Enterprise Agreements to corporations, government entities and educational institutions with 250 users and greater.

As one of only eight Microsoft certified and approved large account resellers in the country, Datacom can help large organisations remain compliant with software licensing, whilst helping them optimise their IT budgets and increase business productivity.

Through the new partnership, Datacom clients can receive a streamlined Microsoft licensing process and better value on software such as Windows 7 Enterprise Edition and Office Professional Plus 2010, as well as Microsoft cloud server products such as Office 365 and Windows Intune. Additionally, Datacom will support Microsoft licensing for application platforms, such as SQL Service 2008, Visual Studio 2010, BizTalk server and SharePointServer 2010.

Unlike other volume licensing programs, Microsoft Enterprise Agreements provide clients with additional no-cost benefits that Datacom can administer, including deployments and ongoing support.

Evan Williams, Small and Medium Business & Partner Group Director, Microsoft Australia, says “Datacom’s long history with Microsoft and in-depth knowledge of local Australian markets are just a couple of the reasons Datacom was chosen to assist larger enterprises with their licensing needs.”

“Datacom is already an award-winning Microsoft provider in New Zealand with a long track record of success, and it has a strong presence in local markets throughout Australia,” says Williams.  “They display strong expertise, experience and business transparency. We have full confidence that Datacom can help enterprises with more than 250 users easily acquire, deploy, manage and update volume licensing enterprise agreements that best suit the needs of enterprise clients throughout Australia.”

With offices in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Australian Capital Territory, Datacom’s regional approach offers clients a deep understanding of local markets and more personalised service than nationally-based IT services companies.

Additionally, Datacom’s convenient, full-service capabilities allow clients to look to one trusted source for all IT needs – design, procurement, building, managing and enhancing. And their flexible and open approach, which includes a 90-day opt-out or change clause, provides maximum agility.

Peter Wilson, Managing Director of Datacom Systems Australia and Asia, explains that the new partnership with Microsoft will allow Datacom to provide a more convenient and more comprehensive service to clients.

“Datacom thinks in terms of where our client’s organisation will be a year from now, or even three years from now, and creates IT solutions that allow for flexibility, versatility and growth. Those solutions almost always include Microsoft products,” says Wilson.  “This new partnership allows us to truly serve all aspects of our larger clients’ IT needs, as they don’t have to look beyond us to sort through the details involved with acquiring or updating Microsoft licensing agreements or taking advantage of the benefits that come with the agreement.”
